About Me

Hello and welcome!

About Me

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor and I bring more than three decades of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families across school, community, and clinical settings. My work is grounded in a warm, collaborative approach that helps clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change.

Before entering clinical practice, I served in educational leadership and school counselor roles where my priorities were to counsel and support diverse learners, coach teachers, counselors, and other staff, and create environments that prioritized emotional well‑being. I served as a director of guidance for over 13 years and prior to that I was a school counselor for 18 years. My background has shaped my belief that healing happens through connection, clarity, and compassionate guidance. In addition, I enjoyed many years of coaching high school boys' basketball and girls' softball on the varsity level so I am aware of the unique challenges that student-athletes face daily.

My Approach to Therapy

My work is grounded in a warm, collaborative approach that helps clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change. I have spent my career guiding individuals through life transitions, stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, and identity development. My counseling style is to integrate person‑centered counseling with cognitive‑behavioral strategies, always tailoring treatment to each client’s strengths, cultural background, and lived experience. I am committed to providing a safe, affirming space where clients can explore their goals, build resilience, and move toward healthier patterns in their daily lives.

What to Expect from Our First Session

Your first session with me is a chance to get comfortable, share what brings you in, and begin shaping a plan that feels right for you. I take time to understand your story, your strengths, and the challenges you’re facing, and I’ll ask thoughtful questions at a pace that feels safe and manageable. You can expect a warm, non‑judgmental space where we talk about your goals for therapy and what you hope will feel different in your life.
