Great to meet you!
My name is Iris L. Mendez, and I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) licensed in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I am dedicated to helping adolescents, adults, and families overcome life's challenges by providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and evidence-based mental health care. As a bilingual clinician, I am proud to offer services in both English and Spanish to better support the diverse communities I serve.
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Widener University after completing my Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Rowan University.
Throughout my career, I have worked in hospitals, outpatient behavioral health, employee assistance programs (EAP), higher education, and community-based settings, providing care to individuals facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral health concerns.
My clinical experience includes working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and crisis situations. I have conducted psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, safety planning, and care coordination while helping clients access appropriate resources and develop practical strategies for lasting emotional well-being.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, person-centered, and trauma-informed. I incorporate evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to help clients build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and achieve their personal goals.
I believe that every individual deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can openly explore their concerns, discover their strengths, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, or other behavioral health concerns, I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward improved mental health and overall well-being.
