Great to meet you!
My name is Marie Lisa Dunbar, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigate life's challenges while building resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being.
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Temple University and have dedicated my career to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care across outpatient, crisis intervention, employee assistance, and community behavioral health settings.
Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, substance use concerns, and serious mental health conditions. My professional experience includes providing outpatient psychotherapy, conducting crisis assessments, supporting individuals at risk of suicide, connecting families with community resources, and helping clients access the level of care that best meets their needs.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, person-centered, and strengths-based. I integrate evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care to help clients develop practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and achieve meaningful, lasting change.
I believe every individual has unique strengths and the ability to grow, heal, and overcome life's obstacles. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout your therapeutic journey.
Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship concerns, substance use, or other behavioral health challenges, I look forward to partnering with you to help you achieve your personal goals and improve your overall well-being.
